lol. I love it Julie. You are looking very cute by the way. I am so excited to see you at Christmas! You needed 2 rolls of duct tape for your boots? How big are they? Or should I say, how big are the holes in the boots? Or are they really shoes and you are trying to make them into boots?
That would be a very nice walk, but I ask the same question as Sharon...two rolls of duct tape?
Your story reminds me of:
Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening by Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
Sharon; I mummy wrapped the foam inside my boots for structural support and weatherproofing. About one roll a boot. I feel really good about it. (By the way, thank-you for the compliment! And I am also excited to see you as well my Dear One!)
Jerry; So that's what's up with the duct tape. They now are amazing boots, so supportive and warm! I'll have to let you try them out next time we get together.
Oh! Thank-you so much for adding that poem! When I was about sixteen my Dad was driving me to a volleyball tournament in Vauxhall and I was doing my English on the way. It came out that his favorite poem was Stopping By the Woods On a Snowy Evening. He said he could imagine the horse thinking, "What we doing here, Mister?! There's nothing!" I memorized it so I could recite it for him. I think everyone in our family knows it by heart now. The part that speaks to me is when he writes, "The woods are lovely, dark and deep..." I say them to myself slow and meaningfully when I am in a forest. It seems the only way to express how it makes me feel.
Oh you guys! Thanks for coming and writing to me here! What fun we have together! What fun we are going to have in a couple of weeks, eh My Loved Ones!
