I love this old adage. I think this only applies to girls though. I don't know what guys do when the going gets tough - there really should be some kind of proverb for them. Some kind of masculine finish that gets them motivated when they are discouraged. Well, if someone comes up with something ... apparently guys are reading this, Heidi and Sharon. Is It Getting Tough?
I love this old adage. I think this only applies to girls though. I don't know what guys do when the going gets tough - there really should be some kind of proverb for them. Some kind of masculine finish that gets them motivated when they are discouraged. Well, if someone comes up with something ... apparently guys are reading this, Heidi and Sharon. What good advice do we have for them?

And Dawn. You are also a good one for reading and commenting. Plus you have a guy of your very own. What would be a good thing to finish "When the going gets tough, the tough - " with, something a man could identify with.
I think for Jon it would finish off something like this: the tough get on their motorbikes and ride. That may be too specific. I will try and think of one more general... maybe the tough flex... hmmm I'll work on it.
Ahhh what about the tough get on their knees and pray? I like it.

The version I'd also heard is "When the going gets tough, the tough get going." Those 'old' adages can be a lot of fun!
